VIDEO

There are many elements that go into a video project; environmental considerations (i.e., lighting), videotaping, audio recording, graphic design, and last (but possibly the most important) editing, and each of these elements have their own essential characteristics; video, for example, has considerations like camera settings and shot composition; audio has things like volume and tonal considerations, both for individual and overall sound quality; graphics have to be imaginative and eye-catching, and editing brings all these things together...Wilkersound understands the importance of paying attention to all those nuances...

STREAMING

Some of the same elements that exists in videography are present in live streaming; the difference is that the elements and considerations are done in real time (live), and the people that are responsible for the stream have to be in constant communication with each other. Obviously, because of the fact that these considerations are in real time, everyone involved has to have a high degree of attention to detail; and of course, there's the quality of the stream, both audibly and visibly, because as you know, these projects have not just VIDEO considerations but AUDIO considerations as well...Wilkersound understands all those all-important considerations...

This was my very 1st attempt at videography; I was just "getting my feet wet" on the production side of things (I was a member of "Men of Heritage," an organization that produced stage events.) The camera was cheap (and back then there was no HD), the venues' soundperson didn't have the the sound set up for both the pit band and the actors to come from the sound system (and I didn't have the equipment that I have now for audio) but we did the best we could...at the time, I wasn't really thinking about being a videographer, I just wanted our production on video...I posted it here because we did an outstanding job from a production standpoint, and I thought you would enjoy it, not necessarily because of the quality of the videography; this, by the way was the 1st "major" stage production we had ever produced, and I thought we did a magnificent job...Dreamworks (the company that owned the rights to "Dreamgirls" at the time) allowed us to put that show on without paying for the permission rights (they looked at it as "free publicity") and as an added bonus, Jennifer Hudson (the Oscar award winning actress and star of "Dreamgirls" [the movie] ) made an appearance...that was an awesome 3-day event for us for sure!

Sean Harris is an accomplished classical vocalist. He has travelled the world over singing, and has his own unique interpretation; his accurate and precise technique is unmistakable, and even if you're not a fan of classical music, but a fan of extremely well performed iterations, you'll enjoy Sean; also, his accompanist, Mr. George Cooper is an outstanding pianist in his own right; together they collaborated to make the day magical, and Wilkersound was honored to be there to visually chronicle the event. From an sound perspective, it should be noted that this video was shot in an old church, which had it's trademark echo, which, for recordings, the acoustics may not work; that's where a knowledgeable videographer has to know what they're doing, and have the right equipment to handle the job; good thing we had our portable multi-track recording devices to mic and record the piano and Sean, that way the "ambient" sound in the room (i.e., the echos, doors opening and closing, throat clearing, babies crying, etc.) wouldn't muck up the sound of the video...after all, what good is clear video if the sound isn't as clear, right?

"HaHaHa!Very funny!" is what you'll say after witnessing the comedic stylings of one hilarious Diane Corder, one of the funniest comedians in Chicago. Diane is also well travelled, spittin' sides wherever she performs; although there's not a whole lot of profanity in this clip there is some, that's why we stamped it with a parental advisory; also, Diane's humor is adult themed, so a lot of kids wouldn't even understand...I know you're gonna want more, but remember, this is supposed to let you see our videographic diversity and ability...
sorry about that, but this little snippet'll have to do...

Ok, so I'm guessing it's pretty evident that we're based in Chicago; having said that Wilkersound decided that it would make a documentary showing all that Chicago has to offer, from restaurants to fameous lounges to landmarks, schools...the list goes on and on; this is the introduction of that documentary, with original music by Rob Burke and narration by me, Ethan Wilkerson...

So, in this wedding video we decided to try something a little different from the normal structure of the usual wedding video; most videographers take shots of the rings, wedding dress, the bride and groom frolicking, etc., and that's nice, but we decided that we would shoot and edit the wedding in a way that would give the illusion that there were multiple cameras and cameramen present...well, I guess there were multiple cameras there (2) but we tried to give the illusion that there were more...did we do it? You be the judge...also, we did include the usual pre-ceremony footage and the important things like the 1st dance and the cutting of the cake; anyway, enough reading, let's look at the video...

This multi-camera shoot was done by Wilkersound with 4 cameras, and the sound was recorded with our multitrack recorders; we mention this to let you know that even if there's no way to tap into the sound system at the venue (or if the venue doesn't have a sound system), we stll have the ability to deliver high fidelity sound for your video because we've got the equipment needed to produce SOUND as clear as the VIDEO; that's something that many videographers loose sight of (no pun intended.) We prefer it that way because the people that should be in control of ALL the elements of the video ARE in control; that includes the client...

As you can see by the caption, this is a video for viewers who like a bird's-eye view, so sit back, relax and enjoy a view from the sky, with Wilkersound as your "air" guide...over land or by sea, Wilkersound can provide awesome shots from the sky, and from near ground level (as you will see from the video.) Drone videography and photography is used for everything from outdoor events such as weddings, reunions, sports events and more; real estate related imagery, such as inspections and presentations, and pretty much anything you can think of using a drone for, actually...

This video feaures the client; This was an interesting concept, because what Mrs. Shay wanted to do was to sing the song to her husband for his birthday while the video of her was playing on the screen; on her copy of the video the singing was muted, although it could be heard here to give you an idea of what was happening...

This would probably fall under the category of "Music Video."

This is Chicago-based singer Noelle Lesniak singing a rendition of a fameous Jazz standard, "Stompin' At The Savoy." When Noelle performs she takes on an assortment of personalities, but in this particular instance, she decided to emulate Judy Garland...

Turn up!!! This is a music video from rapper 5 Star, in the video of his original rap song, "You Ain't Turnt Up." (Did you notice that some of the smoke from the motorcycle burnout forms the word "Rollin'"?)

This is a video presentation done for the Northwest Indiana Community Art Association on an artist by the name of Jean Lewis. The NICAA highlights local artistic talent and Wilkersound is the annual videographer for the presentation. Although the organization is based in Indiana, they showcase talent from wherever they find it, as long as it's local talent.
